Piedmont
In October 2018 we’re escorting a select group of gourmet explorers on a tour of Italy’s sophisticated and picturesque Piedmont region. Famed Barolo and Barbaresco wines, the chocolate and hazelnut concoction gianduja and the star of the culinary world: the rare white truffle, vermouth, cinematography: all were born in the Piedmont.
Highlights of the week:
– Wonderful food – many meals are included; rustic to refined
– Marvelous, renowned wines, and our own sommelier in Turin to share much about the many appellations and styles of Piedmont
– Truffle lesson with one of the judges from the Alba International Truffle Fair
– Lodging at pristine, romantic accommodations
Milano, Barolo, Truffles and the Italian Lakes
Temptations of the Piedmont Region
We start on Italy’s tiny Lake Orta, a shiny jewel amidst the stunning Alps. Days on the lakes, exploring their islands and chairlifting to the tops of mountains; evenings tasting secrets from our Villa’s double Michelin-starred chef, followed by spirited discussions of our day’s discoveries. Then we travel south to a 5-star spa hotel, in pursuit of the mysterious white truffle… Won’t you join us?

Our time in Piemonte (from “piede” (foot) + “monte” (mountain)) in northwest Italy will reveal why the locals have so jealously guarded the secrets of this region.
